Project Leadership of Huron County is a non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors comprising alumni of the Project Leadership program who are actively involved in coordinating and hosting our monthly classes.
We meet in a variety of venues - some in Norwalk, many in smaller Huron County communities - so that we can provide our class members with exposure to other parts of the county with which they may not be familiar, and so our members reach a broader understanding of the issues that concern residents of the county.
We bring in a variety of speakers; we encourage class members to share their own experiences, triumphs and frustrations in lively class discussion; and we provide a variety of leadership resources and development activities.
Class members also put their leadership skills to work throughout the year by adopting and carrying out projects that will, in some way, improve the quality of life for Huron County residents.
One of the most powerful aspects of the program is the network of colleagues and friends that each class member takes away. That also includes membership in a network of Project Leadership alumni who are scattered throughout Huron and surrounding counties. Project Leadership is all about building relationships that will provide a foundation of support for future leaders in Huron County.
